Coco Loco Mexican RestaurantI went there ages ago and it was ok (like literally 7 years +) Just go there and be like "so this guy on the internet said this place was ok" I remember the atmosphere being very intimate (cramped? LOL) |

I wouldn't have a clue what its name is but there's either a mexican resturant in Redcliffe or just over the bridge ie Sandgate. I guess it's not very good without a name but hey, it's still the northside.

It's still city enough, but there's one on Boundary st in West End that's pretty tops. Couldn't tell you the name, but it's just up from Rio Rythmics dance studio.

The only decent mexican ive ever had in Brisbane was at this place at albion, I think called sombreros. They moved from clayfield (which was a pretty bogwhole restaurant) into a more respectible modern establishment.
This place is on sandgate road at albion, just down towards the albion five ways from the albion public bar. |

I don't know about North Side, but if you want genuine Mexican.
La Quinta Cafe' y Bar 189 Oxford Street Bulimba 4171 Tel: (07) 3399 2800 The Mexican Chef there emigrated to Australia last year and really knows his s***. I personally have no interest in Mexican, but my wife and friends are freaks over Mexican food and can't stop raving about it. |

there used to be one called cocoloco at strathpine on gympie road just down from hungry jacks Food's alright, but the last time I was there (few months back) with a group for dinner we ended up getting a discounted meal because one of the drinks (a cup of tea, of all things) had dead cockroaches in the bottom of it... Needless to say - little bit *too* authentic mexican for my likings... |

I advise against coco loco in strathpine. It's mexican imitation food cooked by yobbo strathpinians. Like so many restaurants in the area they go for 'quantity over quality'... a 'chilli con carne' from coco loco is basically a huge plate of beef mince with a little bit of mexican chilli powder in it :(((
Montezumas & Chillies (pretty close to each other on Gympie Road) are OK but not great. There used to be a nice little place in mitchelton on blackwood st. ... can't remember the name though. last edited by demon at 10:51:52 29/Aug/05 |

I went to Pepi's last night in Jindalee and it was f***ing awesome. Paid $22 for a fajitah, and omg it was fkn massive, easily enough for 2 people. There is also a Pepi's in milton, up that road to the left before the brewery as you are heading towards the city.
