I decided I'd take a bottle of gatorade to bed last night cause I was a little dehydrated, anyway, I don't remember what happened after that thought and I woke up this morning with a big orange stain on my carpet.

My one-shot preen stuff didn't work, didn't even lighten the stain.. So now I'm all anxious and have no idea how to get the stain out? Anyone know what to do? The gatorade was left on the carpet for probably about 6 hours...

Has anyone had a Mega cup of blue-coloured slurpy (bubblegum I think)?

You're in for a shocking surprise when you visit the toilet the next day :P

Oooer. 6 hours, that had plenty of time to soak. How much are we talking about here?
Also if it is a rented haus, just clean up any wetness you can and leave untill you move out and have to get the carpets done professionally anyway.

get a sharp razor blade cut a square around the injury, then weld a new piece in

Buy more gatorade so you can colour the rest of the carpet to match.

warm sard soappy water, thoroughly saturate carpet and scrubb vigorously till you get a very thick lather. just keep scrubbing and the colours should start to leak out of the fabric. the longer the stain has been left on there, the longer you will have to scrub.

otherwise ring up 612 abc radio tonight after 9pm when the stain doctor is on. man she knows her stains.

I got a bottle of "Orange Power" from Coles which didn't do anything.. (OHHHH THE IRONY..)

I'm going to try it again tonight, cause it says to use it 2-3 times if it doesn't come out straight away. I'm not very optimistic considering it did f*** ALL the 1st time.

move your bed over the stained bit.

hahaha, sure, that'd work great if I still lived with mummy and daddy. But unfortunately I'm renting and there is quite a bit of bond I'd like to get back.

just get it cleaned off when you move out then, its a requirement to have the carpets done when you move out so just leave it till then. they'll be able to get it out easy.

fyi, i own my own house and don't have any carpet ;)

Ring a carpet cleaning company (One that would normally do your steam cleaning when you leave) I suggest calling your Agent and asking what carpet cleaner they recommend. (You dont have to tell them why)

Call them get them to come out and do a stain removal treatment. The longer you leave it the less chance you have of it coming out.

I've tried so many things on this stain and it's starting to drive me even more mental than I already am.

I need to have a break from this stain for a week or so, it's not the stain, it's me, I'm just not ready for this kind of commitment. I've just come out of a relationship with another spillage outside, and I dunno if I'm ready to go through this again right now.

You need Big Kev

Or you need to visit a dry cleaning store, and rent a steam cleaner for half a day, which would cost you around 30-40 bucks. They should give you the detergent stuff to use with it

Or the cheaper option is to find someone that owns a steam cleaner, or a wet/dry vacuum cleaner and borrow it

What the hell is in gatorade anyway? Food dye?
