For any Firefly fans out there, seems the team behind the new Serenity movie has gotten in on the whole viral marketing act. They've been releasing a series of short videos called "The River Tam Sessions", which give a bit more background on the character of River and what happened to her at the hands of the Alliance before she was smuggled out.

Has there been any word on whether the movie will bring about a new series? I guess it would probably be hard to get all the same cast together...

No word, but heres hoping. All the cast are pretty dedicated to the franchise, if you watched the Making Of special on the DVDs they all go on about how much they love it and how much they miss it; I reckon it wouldn't be too hard to get them all back together if another series happened.

Universal do have the rights to make at least two more movies though, so even if we dont get a new series, at least we'll hopefully get a few more movies.

Man, I wish the movie would hurry up and come out already. This will be prolly be the last movie I see at the cinemas this year unless something awesome comes along. DVD for lyfe!

Also, is it a final cut, or the early test version they were showing around the states a few months ago?

Not sure if it is a final cut or the preview version... I'm assuming it's the full version, as Joss Whedon digs the Aussie fanbase... That and it's opening in Australia first (next month? 24th i think).

I'll have to check with my friend who is a psychotic fan of Firefly/Serenity the actual date and whether this preview is a final cut.

She's got a Gold Class booked out for the opening session, is going to this one at Kedron, and went to the last preview in July down the coast.

As for tix, give Kedron cinemas a call perhaps, also if i can get on to her I'll find out what she's doing to get our tix.

Apparently it *is* a preview, but she said that the one she saw at the coast was fine, you could tell in some parts the sound effects and shiz weren't finalised, but other than that AOK.

And final should be out 29th September.

dont get me wrong i want to see the movie but i could of easily assumed in my head what happened in those shot clips
